Plants and seedlings are cultivated in high-intensity green houses where optimal growing conditions are maintained using advanced climate control, water treatment, and light and humidity systems according to accepted high-technology standards.

Plant propagation offers a real revolution for Ethiopian farmers. First, it is a shift from open pollinated to hybrid (high quality) seeds. Second, it is a shift from drilling seeds in fields to planting a plant thus reducing germination, climate, pests, and disease risks dramatically. Third, it significantly increases productivity and yield for all types of farmers.
We see a wide impact of this activity, especially with small farmers who grow their businesses personally, to the point where their operation’s scale is significant.
Taking advantage of plants and the training supplied by Joytech, local independent growers are capable of drastically increasing their productivity and yield, which offers a true game changing opportunity for small farm holders to escape poverty cycles and to help build economic resilience and welfare.
To further support these activities, Joytech is actively contributing its propagated plants to farmers through collaboration and funding we provide to dedicated NGOS, thus contributing to poverty alleviation in local communities.
